Dr. Cody Miller, Assistant Professor of English education, along with colleagues Dr. Jon Mundorf (P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School), Christian Hines (The Ohio State University), Mario Worlds (University of Florida), and Javier Del Riego (P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School) published, “When the Curriculum Needs Rescuing: Superhero Graphic Novels as Disruptive Curricular Forces” in the Ohio Journal of English Language Arts.
In the article, the authors outline how graphic novels can be positioned in secondary English classrooms to disrupt inequities and curricular oppression often accompanied with traditional English curriculum.
