2021 CIS Graduate Kickstarts Career at Tesla
Owen Conlon ’21 has been offered a full-time position at Tesla as a Data Annotation Specialist. His work will involve working with Tesla’s autopilot self-driving system for their vehicles.
CIS December 2021 graduate Owen Conlon accepted the position and began working for Tesla in November while finishing his final semester at SUNY Brockport.
After his first week in his new position, he stated, “…my first week at Tesla has been truly fantastic. The workspace, the culture, and position are all unique and interesting.”
Owen credits the CIS classes he has taken at Brockport to equip him with the knowledge and skills he possesses to be confident. He states, “I just wanted to highlight how much I really enjoyed Professor Owusu’s HCI and Project Management classes. My career end goal is to reach a role like that of a Systems Analyst, and not only has both classes taught me a lot of what it takes to design, implement, and manage IT solutions for business use, but it’s also helped me realize an interest in user interface design. Both of those classes were truly some of the best I’ve taken during my collegiate time, and I truly think other students could benefit and get some of the same takeaways that I’ve gotten.”
We wish Owen continued success in his current position at Tesla and future advancement in his IT career endeavors!
