CIS Major Lands Internship at Amazon
Computer Information Systems (CIS) Sophomore, Tameem Noory (left side in photo) was beyond excited when he received news of his acceptance as a Data Center Manager Intern with Amazon Web Services last week. The news came as he was attending one of his CIS classes and along with his peer group members were making the last preparations to present their term project.
Tameem credits the knowledge and skills he has learned in his CIS classes as playing an instrumental role in landing him this great internship. Specifically, he credits the group project done this Fall in Dr. Owusu’s Analysis and Logical Design of Information Systems class that required a deep analysis of a business process and the development of skills needed to envision and design a technology-based system solution using modeling strategies such as data flow diagrams, structure charts, interface designing techniques and writing pseudocode.
On his LinkedIn account, Tameem wrote: “After a long recruitment process and careful consideration, I am extremely excited to announce I have accepted an internship offer for the Summer of 2022 with Amazon as a Data Center Manager! I would like to thank God, my family, and close friends for helping/supporting me along the way. I would also like to thank those at Amazon who took the time to recruit and interview me for this role. I am beyond thrilled and ready to work with the amazing team at Chantilly, VA!” (Connect with Tameem on LinkedIn).
In addition to his academics, Tameem is the Quarterback on SUNY Brockport’s football team and the Vice President of the Computing Sciences Club.
