REOC SNAP Case Manager Supports Initiative that Benefits Golisano Children’s Hospital & Open Door Mission

Actors engaging for Halloween on Ambush event

James Hanselman (Case Manager of the REOC SNAP program) recently played Hector Barbossa, along with Rick Martinez playing Jack Sparrow, in a Halloween event created by Tony DeMatteo in Chili NY.

The proceeds are to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital and also Open Door Mission and is the third year offering the event to the Rochester Community.

The event has been covered by radio stations and television stations across the country. Tony DeMatteo designed and built two pirate ships with programmed pyrotechnics, audio, and visual effects in his front yard on Ambush Lane in Churchville Chili. Scores of children came with parents to be photographed with Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Macarollin food truck and Kona Ice were on site to offer tasty treats as well. According to one radio station, the display could be seen for miles! Families and individuals could donate to the two charities as all of Tony DeMatteo’s family and friends pitched in to help. You can still access the website to donate online.
