Joint Planning & Budget Committee Update
September activities of JPBC have included a review of the committee charge, vote and approval of the Instructional Technology and Classroom Renovation subcommittee, and receipt of multiple presentations addressing strategic planning, admission and enrollment, and Middle States accreditation updates.
The Joint Planning and Budget Committee (JPBC) is a presidential advisory committee representing the college community. It serves as the institutional oversight body to ensure that institutional goals and division level planning and budgeting are interlinked and informed by assessment to advance the strategic goals and priorities established in Building a Better Brockport, the strategic plan for the College. The committee meets on select Thursdays from 8:30-10:30 throughout the academic year. Meetings are open and the campus community is encouraged to attend. Also, each month activities of the committee will be shared by way of the Daily Eagle.
During the month of September, JPBC reviewed its charge which included some specific tasks for the 21-22 academic year as follows:
- Reviewing the work of a specially constituted Strategic Planning Committee
- Setting up and overseeing an Instructional Technology and Classroom Renovation subcommittee
- Working in close partnership with the Middle States Steering Committee
- Reviewing the last year of the college’s current strategic plan, and
- Reviewing revenue-generating ideas.
Additionally, JPBC was updated on the work of the Strategic Planning Committee, voted on and approved the Instructional Technology and Classroom Renovation subcommittee charge, received presentations on admission and enrollment at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and received a presentation on Middle States accreditation efforts.
Meetings later this semester are to include presentations from each of the four Goal Groups representing the four respective goals of the College’s strategic plan, a five-year financial model presentation, BASC, and DIFR budget presentations, and a presentation on undergraduate retention.
The next JPBC meeting is scheduled for October 7 in Teams. The link will be provided in the Daily Eagle in the days preceding the meeting.
