Christiana Ortiz named Affirmative Action Officer/Diversity Recruitment and Retention Specialist
Christiana Ortiz will be assuming the role of Affirmative Action Officer on September 16, 2021.
Christiana joined SUNY Brockport in June 2020 as our Diversity Recruitment and Retention Specialist. She brings over 13 years of Human Resources experience, including serving as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator and with seven years of experience in public safety and security. As the Affirmative Action Officer/Diversity Recruitment and Retention Specialist (AAO/DRRS), she will be responsible for the annual review and update of all policies and procedures related to affirmative action and equal employment opportunity, and investigation and disposition of discrimination complaints.
In addition, she remains responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a diversity-focused strategic recruitment program, including oversight of the full life-cycle recruitment process (development of job descriptions, position advertisements, sourcing, screening, and training search committee members.)
Christiana will report to Tammy Gouger, Director of Human Resources.
