Reminder: Job Openings at SUNY Brockport No Longer Posted Through Daily Eagle
Effective August 23, internal job opportunities will no longer be posted through the Daily Eagle. While divisions have achieved targeted budget reductions, hiring still continues. Please continue reading for more details.
Regarding Recent Postings
During the past several months, every division on campus has done the hard work of achieving targeted reductions in personnel budgets. This has not been easy, since it has meant that lines in each division have been cut and vacancies been left unfilled. These tough decisions have been led by supervisors and VPs in each division. As a result, each division has met its targeted staffing reduction. The process for reviewing faculty lines is still in progress. Yet during this time the College also has been strategically hiring in areas outside of the agreed upon cuts, which is why in recent weeks the Daily Eagle has featured several position openings.
Please note, all open position requests are reviewed by Cabinet to ensure that that the hiring fits within the reduced divisional budget parameters and that the role assists the College in fulfilling its mission.
Openings in Academic Affairs are handled differently as faculty lines are not typically advertised internally. Many faculty positions have been approved for search and these will be announced at the Provost’s Academic Affairs Kick-Off speech on August 26.
