USPS Rate Increase

The United States Postal Service has announced that a rate increase will go into effect on August 29, 2021.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced a postage rate increase effective August 29, 2021.  The postage increase will impact everyone who uses mail services.  While the change to each service cost varies, the average increase is 6.9%

This impacts retail pricing (stamps and metered mail) as well as bulk mail processing.

The proposed Mailing Services changes include:

Product Current Price New Price
Letters(1oz) 55 cents 58 cents
Letters additional ounce(s) 20 cents 20 cents
Letters (metered 1oz) 51 cents 53 cents
Domestic Postcards 36 cents 40 cents
Library Rate (<1lb) $2.75 $3.03
Flats $1 $1.16
Outbound International Letters (1oz) $1.20 $1.30

Cost increases are not wonderful, but rest assured the College Mail Services Team is eager to help you ship reliably and affordably.  If you are considering an end of August mailing, we encourage you to move it up to save your department and the College some much-needed money.

Feel free to share appropriately. Please contact John Carlson, in the Mail Services Office, with any questions.
