Brockport SummerLEAP is in Full Swing
Brockport SummerLEAP is already in week two of its five-week program. Over 40 students from the RCSD from kindergarten through third grade are engaging in service-learning through authentic literacy, science, civics, and math activities.
SummerLeap teachers incorporate best practices from socio-emotional learning, restorative practices, and culturally relevant pedagogies to ensure that we are able to address the whole child. Yoga, art, reading, and outdoor play are just a few of the ways that kids are able to engage in cognitive, social, emotional, creative, physical, and intrapersonal development.
We are grateful to our community partners at the First Unitarian Church of Rochester for hosting our program at their campus in the city. For more information about SummerLEAP, please contact the Director of SummerLEAP, Amy Shema.
